District Governor Rick Rivkin visits the Rotary Club of McHenry

Rotary District 6440 Governor Richard “Rick” Rivkin met with the members of the Rotary Club of McHenry.  We exchanged many examples and ideas regarding our shared avenues of “Service Above Self” – Community, Youth, Vocational, International and Club.  Joining Rick was Kathy (Kat) Beringer, Assistant Governor – Northwest Sector – Rotary International, who also visited with us on July 28 (see story posted below on July 30, 2016 for more on Kat).  Thank you Rick and Kat for your invaluable insight into the many avenues through which the Rotary Club of McHenry can continue to grow and further serve our community, including “The Power of One”.

 

Rick Rivkin joined the Rotary Club of Northbrook in 1999 and served as President during the 2009-2010 Rotary year.  During his tenure in the club, he served as International Service Chair and as Webmaster.  Rick participated in the first district mission to Guatemala in 2007 and returned to Guatemala a few years later.  In 2012 Rick organized and led a PolioPlus NID trip to India followed by a PolioPlus NID trip to Nigeria in 2013.

 

Professionally Rick is President and CEO of Saf-T-Gard International, Inc., a 4^th generation family business based In Northbrook, IL.  Saf-T-Gard is a global supplier of industrial safety products and personal protective equipment. 

 

Rick and his wife Helen have lived in Deerfield since 1973.  They have 3 children and 4 grand-children.
