The regular Noon meeting on Thursday, July 13, 2017 included a special vocational presentation by Fire Chief Tony Huemann.  At McHenry Township Fire Protection District Station 5, Fire Chief Huemann explained the organization and operation of the McHenry Township Fire Protection District.  He also presented some of the details associated with the history, design, and construction of Station 5.  Click here to see the Fire Chief’s presentation.  The construction of Station 5 was completed on September 30, 2016, and it went into service on December 1, 2016.  Average call response time has decreased nearly 14.2% to 4 minutes and 20 seconds.
 
Formed in 1939, today the MTFPD provides Emergency Response Services to 56 square miles and approximately 65,000 residents residing in McHenry, Johnsburg, Lakemoor, McCullom Lake, Ringwood, Holiday Hills, and Bull Valley. The MTFPD operates 24 hours a day out of five stations with Paramedics and Firefighters.  In addition, the MTFPD has a full-time Chief, 2 Deputy Chief's, 3 Battalion Chief's, and a Fire & Life Safety Educator, as well as a Fire Prevention Bureau Director.  In addition, the MTFPD offers and/or lists numerous classes and programs relating to fire prevention, safety and health
