A series of articles in the latest issue of THE ROTARIAN features the unique work of Chicago Rotarians to "Find Safe Haven" in one of the cities most dangerous neighborhoods!

The article written by Megan Ferringer with photos by Jean-Marc Giboux forms a great part of this issue of our monthly Rotary Internation news-magazine.  Beginning on page 40, the article tells the story of Angalia Bianca who rose from a life of drug abuse, crime, and homelessness to reclaim her life, thanks to the presence of Safe Haven--a network of shelters that address the causes of chronic homelessness and teach residents how to relearn a life without drugs and alcohol.  Neli Vazquez-Rowland, a member of the Rotary Club of Chicago, and her husband, Brian Rowland, founded the organization 20 years ago.  Over these past years, over 50,000 clients have followed a program that includes treatment, education, health care, job training, and job placement.
