President Webb welcomed all to today’s meeting . Opening duties went to Terry Hargrove, leading us in Pledge, Phil Sweeney, lead the 4-way test, Jim Vyduna started us in a song and  William McLemore said the Prayer, which was preceded by a moment of silence in remembrance of Don Howard who passed away during the previous week.

Long-time (40+ years) Rotary Club of McHenry member Don Howard passed away on April 28th. Please keep his family in your prayers during this difficult time.

 

BBQ sent us their $750 vendor booth fee for the BBB

 

Terry thanked all who helped with scholarship interviews on the 24th.  There were 26 well qualified applicants competing for our 3 awards.  There were 2 winners from West campus - Michaela Matthys & Jessie Lopez.  The third winner was Michelle Orr from Marian Central.

Fun & Frolics     Jim Vyduna did a great job with some questions that only those who knew Don Howard well would know.

 

Program   Chief Huemann updated us on the various road construction projects that have begun, or will soon begin in the area.  Route 31/120, the Johnsburg roundabout, & Route 31 & Bull Valley Road were all part of the update, as well as what the township fire department is doing to adapt and continue to be able to serve the community effectively
