On November 30, 2017, the Rotary Club of McHenry is expressing thanks for the tremendous support given to our Club – and in turn our community – over the past six years by the sponsors of Blues, Brews and BBQ.  In addition to food, beverages, and other festivities, we are streaming a video thanking each sponsor.  The video includes a clip from Blues, Brews and BBQ’s as well as one answering the question “What is Rotary”.  To manifest the community benefits our sponsors have facilitated, the streamed video also displays various grant recipient logos, photos of checks delivered to recipients, as well as the numerous NW Herald stories in which these moments have been publicized. Here is the video -

Also during the event as a further manifestation of the community benefits facilitated by our sponsors, the Rotary Club of McHenry Charitable Foundation, Inc. will be distributing $10,000 for natural disaster relief in Florida, Puerto Rico and Texas.  This takes the form of two checks. One check is for $4,000 which is payable to ShelterBox USA; this check includes the excellent results from the Johnsburg Junior High School student Fall Dance and “Penny Wars” totaling $2,107.05, as well as additional funding from the Rotary Club of McHenry Charitable Foundation, Inc.  A representative of Rotary District 6440 will also be present to receive a check for $6,000 which the District will likewise use for natural disaster relief in Florida, Puerto Rico and Texas; distribution of these funds will utilize local Rotary Clubs in each area, and include funding to co-sponsor a relief trip comprised of volunteers who are going to Texas.
