On Thursday, October 5, 2017, Denis Buch (Club President) presented Ross Spencer with a check payable to ShelterBox USA for USA Disaster Relief.   These funds were derived from our recent Blues, Brews & Barbecue; our Club Members are considering sending additional funds to help address our current unprecedented USA disasters.  Additional funds were received from participants in our Blues, Brews & Barbecue through a collection jar and such funds will be sent to ShelterBox USA.  The students and staff at local Junior High Schools - Johnsburg Junior High School and McHenry Middle School - are raising funds to further address USA DisastersJohnsburg  McHenry

Rotary and ShelterBox USA
Rotary International and ShelterBox USA are partners providing disaster relief. The United States is the middle of an unfortunate spate of natural disasters.  In Florida, Puerto Rico, and Texas the aftermath of Category 4 Atlantic Hurricanes Irma, Harvey, and Marie mark the first time three such hurricanes have devastated the United States in the same year.

The Rotary Club of McHenry has encouraged local schools to help disaster relief through ShelterBox USA, which provides (among other relief) shelters within shelters.  This assistance will be used to assist those in Florida affected by Hurricane Irma and those in Texas affected by Hurricane Harvey
